Donation of Materials to Library

The IGSI library collection is composed of materials purchased by the Society and materials donated by IGSI members and researchers of Irish ancestors. All materials contribute to the quality of the collection.
If considering making a donation of new or lightly-used materials to the IGSI, please review the following policy.

IGSI Materials Donation Policy
The Irish Genealogical Society International accepts donations of materials to its collection based on the following guidelines:
  • Donations to IGSI are accepted with prior arrangement.  Due to space constraints, IGSI prioritizes its acquisition of material.  IGSI will consider accepting new or materials not currently in the collection on Irish genealogy or history in the following formats:
    • Bound Books/Records
    • PDF Files
    • Microforms (film, fiche)
    • Periodicals
    • Newsletters
    • Maps/Atlases
  • Items offered which do not meet our current needs will be declined or disposed of appropriately.
  • IGSI does not appraise donated items for monetary value.  If needed, donors should arrange an independent appraisal prior to donation.
