It means everything to IGSI. It is through the volunteers that the organization grows. We have no paid employees so volunteers accomplish everything. The best part is that the volunteers are in control of what they do and when they do it.
- You will be contacted about projects - An email or phone call will go out to volunteers about projects that require help.
- Pick the jobs you want - No jobs are assigned until you have decided to do them and feel confident about what is required.
- Directions or Training - The project head will contact you with the directions or training for the job. They will continue to be your contact for the length of the project.
- Put in as many hours as you want - Projects are available for you to work when you have the time and interest.
- Try all different types of jobs as you volunteer - Know that all jobs are important to us and you can do the ones that you prefer. Big or small they all need to be done. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to try something new.
- Recognition - Our volunteers are special people to the organization because without them we cannot function. It is through these people that IGSI grows and changes so we try to recognize them with events, notices, newsletters and spotlight articles online and in The Septs.
- Make friends - You can make new friends knowing they share your interest of family history.
Be a volunteer because our volunteers matter.
