- Unless otherwise noted, programs are held in the auditorium at the Minnesota Genealogical Society (MGS) Library. The building is seniors and handicapped friendly. For directions, see Library Facts.
The Program: Presenters - international and local - all share information to help you understand your Irish heritage and learn more about researching and documenting your ancestry - whether you're a beginner or advanced researcher.
The list of past speakers reads like a Who's Who in Irish Genealogy:
- John Grenham, Ireland's foremost genealogical expert, and author of Tracing Your Irish Ancestors,
- Dr. Christine Kinealy, professor of Irish History, University of Central Lancashire in England,
- Dr. Kerby Miller, Professor History, University of Missouri (in Columbia), USA, author of Emigrants and Exiles
- David Rencher, Director of the Family and Church History Department, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. David is responsible for the collection and image digitization project
- Kyle Betit, co-author of A Genealogist's Guide to Discovering Your Irish Ancestors..
See Past Quarterly Programs for a detailed list of topics and speakers. Most presentations are summarized in the The Septs. Members can read them online. Non-members can purchase The Septs issues from the Bookstore - either downloaded or as a print issue by mail.
Next Meeting and Program - You can always find the next topic, date, and location either on this page (column at left) or on the HOME Page in Mark Your Calendar.
