IGSI "Irish Days" at the Minnesota Genealogical Library
In the Minnesota area and need research help? IGSI volunteers (experienced Irish researchers) staff the MGS / IGSI Library on the 2nd Saturdays of most months from 9 am to 3 pm.
They work directly with you -
- Orient you to the library and the Irish collection.
- Direct you to information sources and work with you on your specific research needs, at your request.
- Teach beginners the tools of Basic Irish Research.
- Show you how to use major research tools, like
- Griffith's Valuation (the major replacement for the lost Ireland censuses up to about 1864). and
- LDS 1880 Federal Census CDs.
Note, the MGS Library includes U.S., Minnesota, and other ethnic collections. All resourses are available whenever the MGS / IGSI Library is open.
