Itinerary
Here is the itinerary of the IGSI 2010 trip to Ireland. Changes could be made prior to the trip.

Day 1: Depart USA for Ireland.
Day 2-5: We will arrive at Dublin airport and be met by our driver to our hotel where you will stay for four nights with the opportunity to achieve all your personal activities in the capitol. Breakfast will be included each morning. Our final evening the group will attend a dinner and show at the merry Ploughboy pub set in the Dublin Mountains. We will return to the hotel for night.
Day 6: This morning we will head south over the Dublin and Wicklow mountains to the 6th Century Monastic settlement of St. Kevin at Glendalough. The Audio will outline the history of the period and the local guide will take us on a walking tour of the site. We will depart by mountain road to 3,000 feet above Glendalough with spectacular views over the valley. We will travel to Carlow and the medieval city of Kilkenny with time to explore this very historic city. Our next stop will be Clonmel where we will stay overnight and enjoy dinner at our beautiful old manor house set on the River Suir.
Day 7: Our morning tour will take us to the John F. Kennedy homestead and memorial park at Dunganstown, Wexford and on through Waterford to the Atlantic coastline. This beautiful drive will take us along the ocean dotted with fishing boats and golden sandy beaches. We will return to Clonmel for dinner and a special evening of entertainment.
Day 8: Our drive today will take us over the 'VEE' to the heritage town of Lismore with a view of it's famous castle set above the River Blackwater. We will head for the town of Cobh (pronounced Cove) to visit St. Coleman's Cathedral and the Queenstown Story, that tells the story of the famine period in Ireland. This was also the last port of call for the Titanic. Finally we will continue west through Bandon, Clonakilty and Bantry to Glengarriff for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: We will start our morning with a boat trip to the subtropical island of Garnish set in Bantry Bay known for its seals. On the return from the island we set off over the Caha mountains through Kenmare on the 'Ring-of-Kerry' to Killarney for overnight and dinner.
Day 10: Today gives us a day tour on the spectacular Dingle Peninsula, a world of seascapes, mountains and pre-Christian history in abundance. A day on Dingle is something you will never forget. Return to Killarney for dinner and maybe visit some pubs.
Day 11: The morning will see us heading east through Mallow, Cahir, to Cashel with a visit to the 'ROCK-of-CASHEL' seat of the Kings of Munster for many centuries. Then on to Ireland's national stud farm in the town of Kildare to learn the importance of thoroughbred horse breeding to the Irish economy. We will arrive in late afternoon to our hotel near Dublin airport for our last evening in Ireland. We will share our last dinner at the hotel.
