North of Ireland Family History Society
c/o Graduate School of Education
The Queen's University of Belfast
69 University Street
Belfast BT7 1HL, Northern Ireland
Internet: http://www.nifhs.org/

The society's objective is to foster interest in family history with special reference to families who have roots in the North of Ireland and their descendants, wherever they may be. It is a a voluntary, non profitmaking organization, depending on the financial support of amateurs doing Family History and volunteer effort in running the society. The society is not a Research Agency, although we do like to put people in contact with one another.

Two types of Membership:

  • BRANCH MEMBERSHIP - Local members usually join and attend meetings at their nearest Branch by paying the annual fee set by each Branch - but this also allows them to attend meetings held by any of the Branches. Annual Membership includes two issues of the Journal, "North Irish Roots". (IGSI is a member)
  • ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - This is for members who are unable to attend Branch meetings but wish to be involved in the Society. An annual subscription to the Society entitles them to two issues of the journal "North Irish Roots" and also to submit a Profile Form. The Profile Form provides space to include Member's Interests, Queries and offers of Reciprocal Research.
